Car set for Beijing motor show reveal; first pictures leak on to internet
22 April 2012

The first pictures of the Seat Ibiza Cupra, which is due to be unveiled at the Beijing motor show, have leaked on to the internet.

The launch of the car follows the mid-life facelift given to the rest of the Seat Ibiza range earlier this year. As with those cars, the styling of the Ibiza Cupra has been tweaked.

It has not been announced if the car has any engine upgrades, but it is likely the car will continue to be sold with the same 178bhp 1.4 TSI engine, mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox.

No Bocanegra?

I'd go for the Fabia vRS. In estate form. Actually, I won't, because I want a manual 'box. If VAG offered this twincharged unit with a manual gearbox, it would be much more appealing. And it would be cheaper. The Skoda version would be a bargain!

Ah, found a cabin pic (thanks, Evo). Rejoice - it's a 'plastiminium'-free zone!
