Whacky concept debuts at Shanghai show

Major Chinese manufacturer Chang’an Auto wasn’t holding back when it came to designing this E301 concept, which features a number of outlandish styling features.

It is the company’s vision of a compact crossover vehicle and has gullwing doors and an asymmetrical shape.

The roofline extends on one side only, leaving a curved rear window and a long glass panel running down the roof.

Reports suggest the E in E301 stands for “electric”, signifying battery power, although even today at the Shanghai motor show details were scarce.

Some of the styling for the E301 has a European feel, in particular echoing some previous concepts by Citroen.
