New, bigger Autocar magazine hits the shelves today

Mark Wednesday 25 April 2007 in your diaries, because today, the oldest car magazine in the business gets the biggest update in its recent history. Autocar has been re-imagined, redesigned, repackaged and brought bang up to date, and you can see the results at your nearest newsagent. Pick up a copy today and you'll find that Autocar is wider, thicker, easier-to-read and yet more densely packed with insight than it has ever been. You may also notice that it no longer comes with a monthly magazine-style spine; we've moved to saddle-stitching and glossy paper from front to back, and hope you'll agree that the results are much more befitting the most trusted and influential weekly in motoring journalism."This week's issue of Autocar is a brighter, bolder version of Autocar, on sale at the same £2.30 a copy," said editor-in-chief Steve Cropley. "We've increased the page size, varnished the cover, expanded the unique Autocar road test along lines recommended by our readers, and matched it with the most absorbing, incising motoring columns and features you'll find anywhere." "We've made dozens of other detail improvements too," said Cropley, "they're literally too numerous to list. Best of all, from now on we're printing our unmissable classified adverts on white, glossy paper, which gives them the status they've always deserved." "Even though there's 111 years to look back on, I think it's the best issue Autocar has ever produced. I hope you'll enjoy it."
