Fiat to introduce optional 'Eco pack' to new Bravo 1.6 Multijet

Fiat plans to introduce an ultra-frugal version of the Bravo. The ‘Eco’ pack, which will be available as an option on the new 1.6-litre Multijet turbodiesel engine, consists of low rolling resistance tyres, longer gear ratios and different ECU settings. The result of these tweaks is combined fuel consumption of 62.7mpg (up 5.0mpg on the standard 103bhp 1.6 Multijet) and CO2 emissions of 119g/km. But unlike the standard 103bhp 1.6-litre Multijet Bravo, Eco pack cars are only Euro4 compliant, and do not meet Euro5 emissions regulations. The Fiat also stops short of VW Bluemotion-style aerodynamic adjustments, and there is no badging to distinguish Eco pack cars from other Bravos. The Eco pack will be available when the new engine arrives in the UK later this year for around £300 more than the standard car.
