Korando compact SUV gets significant upgrades inside and out for the MY2014

The Ssangyong Korando has been updated for 2014.

The updated compact SUV is priced from £14,995. Orders are already open and the car will be seen in dealerships before the end of the year.

Ssangyong says it has given the Korando a makeover inside and out. The car features a new black-mesh radiator grille, new headlight designs featuring LED DRLs and a lower, wider air intake at the front. At the rear there are smaller changes, with a new rear light cluster design. New designs also accompany the car's 16- and 17-inch wheel selections, while new colours are also available.

Inside, the Korando gets an altered interior with an updated dashboard that features soft-touch furnishings with wooden trim, while there are also larger cup holders, a mobile phone tray and a sunglasses holder.

The current car's engines and transmissions are carried over with minor changes. That means a 2.0-litre diesel unit with 147bhp forms the entry-level option, while the same engine with 173bhp sits at the top of the range. The company says it has reduced noise, vibrations and harshness within the Korando, as much as 9.3 per cent in places.

Prices for the new Korando start at £14,995, rising to £21,495 for a top-spec model.

Possibly the least visually

Possibly the least visually offensive car SsangYong makes. And with a starting price of just £14,995, it appears to offer good value for money. I still don't see it selling very well though.
