Mercedes GP driver would welcome Schumacher as his team-mate

Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg would welcome Michael Schumacher as his team-mate next season.

Schumacher is hotly tipped to take the second Mercedes seat to complete an all-German line-up at the team.

Speaking to Swiss magazine Motorsport Aktuell, Rosberg said he would relish the chance of competing head to head with Schumacher in the same machinery.

“It would be a very interesting challenge, and a super line-up,” he said.

But when asked whether he though the seven-time champion would join him at Mercedes, Rosberg said, “Honestly, I have no idea.”

Schumacher met with his manager Willi Weber in Stuttgart, but Weber insisted the meeting’s location had nothing to do with the close proximity of Mercedes’ headquarters.

Weber indicated that a decision on Schumacher’s future would not be taken until after Christmas. “Let's wait, even though soon it is Christmas,” he said.

He's retired.

Finish.

Done.

The story has dragged on too long to be remotely interesting
