3-series wins global car award
18 April 2006

BMW's 3-series has been named World Car of the Year at a presentation during the New York Motor Show.

The award is voted for by 46 car journalists worldwide. The BMW emerged triumphant from a final shortlist that also included the Mazda MX-5 and Porsche's Cayman S.

The latest success follows a number of UK gongs for the 3-series, including Car of the Year from our sister title, What Car?.
