British manufacturer celebrates a 30 per cent rise in sales in the six months to the end of June, bolstered by high demand in Europe

Global sales for Rolls-Royce have risen by over 30 per cent in the six months to the end of June 2014, the manufacturer has revealed.

The British firm won't be drawn on specific sales figures for each model in its range, but has reported that its success is down to continued demand for the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Rolls-Royce Ghost and Rolls-Royce Wraith model lines. Last year the company sold 1475 cars in the first six months of the year, and a 30 per cent rise would put this year's half-year figure at around 1915 vehicles.

Although growth was strong in all regions in the first half of the year, European demand was particularly strong, with a 60 per cent rise in sales. The US and Chinese markets also experienced double-digit increases, while sales in the Asia Pacific region were up by 40 per cent, and those in the Middle East up by 30 per cent.

One of the strongest-performing countries for the brand was Germany, where sales have doubled.

The firm says that alongside its standard sales, the number of cars being modified through its bespoke service is also running at record levels.

Confirming that the brand was on target to achieve record sales in 2014, Rolls-Royce boss Torsten Müller-Ötvös said: "This is an excellent half-year result and demonstrates the continued confidence that our customers have in our company and our fine cars."

This latest news comes off the back of record sales for the company in 2013, when it sold a total of 3650 cars.
