Citroen is giving its C2 and C3 Pluriel mild facelifts for the summer, with styling tweaks and new trim levels. The C2 gets a new radiator grille and one-piece bumper, plus a simplified range of just four specs; Vibe, Rhythm, VTR and VTS. The entry price for the C2 has risen by £800, with the base 1.1-litre Vibe model starting from £8795, but standard equipment levels have also improved; MP3 input now standard across the range. The Cote d’Azur C3 Pluriel has been given a new engine as well as a new look. It is now available with a 1.4-litre, 70bhp HDi diesel motor, priced at £14,395, £1165 over the 1.4i Pluriel.Citroen’s slightly offbeat convertible also gets revised front and rear lights, a metallic front grille and aluminium effect roof arches, plus cruise control as standard. The rest of the C3 Pluriel range remains unchanged, and the standard C3 hatchback gets revised trim levels but no facelift. A 1.6-litre, 92bhp HDi diesel option has been added to the C3 engine range, however; it costs £11,895.

Re: Citroen reveals new-look C2 and C3

Surely the whole headlight, repeaters etc assembly is now so stylised and so large that I have to wonder how well it all works.

The headlights also must be fantastically liable to catastrophic damage in the event of a car-park knock.

Get a grip Citroen.

Re: Citroen reveals new-look C2 and C3

As much as I like the C2 and C3 Pluriel, I think Citroen desperately needs something new in their small car range. An all-new C3 is due at the end of the year, I think, and there are even rumours of a new 2CV, which would probably replace the Pluriel. I've also heard that the C2 will be cut out of the range in favour of a C3 3-door - a more sporty version of the next C3 5-door. The small car range from Citroen just doesn't feel fresh any more, in my opinion, and I don't think Citroen should have raised the starting price to £8800 - that's nearly £1000 more than a Fiat 500! But I'd like to see something new from them - they're already on a roll with the C6, C4 Picasso ad C5!...
