McLaren Automotive has confirmed the launch of its second model, the McLaren MP4-12C Spider.
The Woking-based firm says it will reveal full details “within the next few days”, and has so far only confirmed it will use the same 616bhp twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 engine as its coupé sibling.
A teaser image accompanying the release has given nothing away about whether the new Spider will have a soft-top or folding hard-top roof.
However, Autocar has previously reported that the Spider will get an innovative retractable hard-top that will fold away behind the seats, allowing the MP4-12C’s glass engine cover to remain.
