Just done the daily commute in a new BMW 123d coupe.
Over a 45-mile mix of M25, M3 and suburban roads, driven quite normally - not ragging it, but not sparing the horses when the need arose, it returned a phenomenal real-world 47.8mpg.
That's from a car that packs 201bhp and 295lb ft, and gets from 0-62mph in 7.0sec. Emissions? A mere 138g/km. And it's great to drive.
Put me down as seriously impressed.
