Has Saab found a buyer?

Hilton Holloway
I've just had a text message from a source, who had a text message from another source...who claims that Saab may about to be sold.

Apparently, the alleged deal would see Koenigsegg and the Swedish govermnent coming together to save the Trollhatten-based car maker. If nothing else, a domestic rescue would underpin Saab's home market sales, which I understand is something of a priority for the company.

We don't have any further details, but I was told by Swedish sources last week that any deal could be nailed by mid-June.

I should have said that the story originated in Sweden and my source is an auto industry figure.

I really hope something along these lines can be worked out. Koenigsegg would be the best custodian of Saab as an odd-ball, innovative and distinctively Swedish brand, provided it really has access to enough cash to make it work.
