@ Jackjflash : Boy, you're an irritable person aren't you? Never mind, I didn't enter this thread to start an argument with anyone, you seem to like confrontation and actively seek it whilst unnecessarily confronting anyone else who might have a valid opinion and experience.
Why you would presume that your SCCA experience would come across as 'Boorish'? Why not declare this and share some experiences, this is after all a car forum, for car fanatics. Also I don't appreciate your tone of condescension when you say "...someone who claims to be a Top Gear test driver, I’m afraid I never had an opportunity to drive Clarkson’s GT."
Could you be any more derogatory if you tried? I have never made such a claim - TG don't employ 'Test Drivers' as you put it and the GT reference was a response to a previous post, why this bothers you so much is beyond me? If you want to know more about what I do, just ask.
Stop being so hostile and entertain the notion that other people have a valid opinion too. And lets try and keep to the topic in hand, eh? To which end, I say that manual gearboxes are more fun and rewarding than auto's. Let's have a poll on AC or the SCCA site and get this settled?
