As a new era of ultra high-tech supercars arrive in the shape of the McLaren P1, Ferrari F70, and even the hybrid Porsche 918 that will be this car's spiritual successor, we take the opportunity to revisit the iconic Porsche Carrera GT.

Why not?
If you didn't want to see it 'yet again', why watch it again? Auto Car aren't forcing anything onto you...
Carrera GT now on my
Carrera GT now on my Euromillions-win test-drive list.
What a pleasure to watch a motoring hack present a vid in a style that's not portentous or smug, but is refreshingly spontaneous, heartfelt and enthusiastic, yet also articulate and informative. Bravo!
(But please pronounce Porsche correctly - I bet you don't anglicize Renault, Alfa Romeo, Bach, Haydn, Peugeot, Citroën et al?)
Good post - the enthusiam of
Good post - the enthusiam of VP was clearly genuine...but I can't help thinking that, 3 years from now, with the P1, F70 and 918 representing the Ubercar benchmark, that this very capable (but uglier than a Caterham) car will be quietly trundling towards the dustbin of history - more GT40 than 250 GTO...

@Soldi
The feature is called Hero Cars, hence why they're dong a video feature. Pretty obvious really.
Not sure what DJForbes means by dustbin of history. The current value of the Carerra GT certainly doesn't back that up. They're seriously highly sought after, because it's such a great car, hence as Vicky states the value now is the same as when new. A definite future investment prospect, in the same mould as the F40.
What an awful colour for such
What an awful colour for such a wonderful car
Great to look at. And a nice car too. ;-)
Ladies and Gentlemen, meet the new Vicki Butler-Henderson! What a pleasure to watch, in every way! Loved those interior shots! How nice is it to have an attractive girl who knows how to drive and who knows her stuff doing nothing more than showing genuine enthusiasm for cars?
Still my favourite car. That
Still my favourite car. That noise!!!! I worked at Porsche for a while and was in the workshop at Reading while 2 GTs that were being serviced there were being put away for the night inside. The sound of the engines blipping, reverberating around the workshop was incredible.
110cc and 4 gears, all the fun I get to have at the moment.
