Volvo has reaffirmed its intentions to launch a new flagship model to compete with Audi and BMW in China. Geely and Volvo chairman Li SHufu told Chinese media the model, dubbed S100, would be based on a stretched variant of the next-generation Volvo S80.
The Dacia Duster 1.6-litre Access is now available from £99 per month on a four-year contract. Dacia announced the new leasing deal alongside a similar offer for the Duster in top-spec Laureate guise, which is available from £139 per month.
Hyundai's new European test facility at the Nürburgring has officially opened. The £5.5 million facility will now serve as a hub for Hyundai's testing activities at the 'Ring, and will also act as an extension of the company's research and development operations.
Production of the BMW i3 has started in Leipzig, Germany. Around £337 million has been invested in bespoke machinery at the site, which will be used to manufacture BMW's i range of vehicles. Deliveries of the i3 throughout Europe will start in November.

What about...
...calling the new luxury Volvo the S90? S100 looks weird, to me. Not that they'd ever sell it in Europe anyway, but it would be nice to have some more variety. It sounds like a rival to the Volkswagen Phaeton more than anything.
