Infiniti's JX seven-seater will cost from around £27k when it goes on sale in America

Infiniti has revealed its new Infiniti JX seven-seat luxury crossover at the Los Angeles motor show, after showing it first in concept guise at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August.

In production form, the JX will be offered with a 3.5-litre 261bhp V6 petrol engine and either front or all-wheel drive. New technologies will be offered including Backup Collision Intervention, which helps the driver detect crossing objects behind the vehicle and if necessary the system engages the brakes to avoid a collision.

The JX, which is not destined for UK sales, will also come with a 14-speaker Bose studio surround sound system, an advanced Infiniti Connection Telematics system that can automatically sync the owner’s calendar and provide navigation guidance to appointments.

“The JX Concept advances the Infiniti design language, sharing design cues of the Infiniti Essence concept, yet interprets those elements in ways suitable to the needs of a family luxury crossover.” said senior vice president and chief creative officer Shiro Nakamura at Pebble Beach.

The Infiniti JX will cost from $40,450 (£25,650) for the JX35 FWD and $41,550 (£26,300) for the JX35 AWD model.
