Features include a Union Jack-themed exterior – available in Chilli Red, White Silver or Lightning Blue – and the Olympic graphic adorned on the roof.

All models also get white mirror caps, a sports stripe, which runs over the length of the car and Olympic graphics on the car’s side skirts. Unique to special edition models are grey 17-inch conical spoke alloys.

Inside, London 2012 specials feature “the London skyline, beautifully etched across the width of the piano-black dashboard,” according to Mini.

“Silhouetting some of London’s most iconic landmarks, including Tower Bridge, Battersea Power Station and the London Eye, the dashboard also displays the words “London 1 of 2012”.

Continuing the British theme are black ‘Lounge Leather’ seats, which feature red-and-blue stitching with white piping. The handbrake, gearlever and floor mats are also colour coded.

Standard equipment on all cars includes DAB radio, air-conditioning, cruise control and chrome interior touches.

Prices for the Mini London 2012 special edition start from £17,800 for the Mini Cooper, climbing to £20,860 for the Cooper SD variant.
