Buy a new low-emissions Vauxhall and you'll get £1000 for your old car

You've heard of the car supermarkets giving you £1000 for your car, no matter what state it's in – well now Vauxhall is offering you a grand in return for letting them scrap your car. The idea is that you're saving the environment by scrapping your polluting old car in favour of the lowest-emission Corsa, Meriva, Astra or Zafira. Citroen has run a similar offer since June 2006, giving you up to £1000 back when you trade in your old banger for a more economical new Citroen.Simple, effective, and a good offer for anyone looking to upgrade to a new car. If only the offer extended to the VXR8…
