GM brand may join Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi on the sidelines

Chevrolet is reviewing its participation in this year's Frankfurt motor show, and may skip the event in order to save money.

A spokesman denied that a decision had already been made to miss the show, saying: "It remains a case of 'watch this space and see what happens'.

"It may be prudent to miss the show, as we've not got anything major coming up to launch and we want to spend as much as we can on the Spark launch in 2010, but no decision has been made."

So far this year, Chevrolet's European sales are down 17.6 per cent.

If Chevrolet decides to miss the show, it will join Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi in the list of car makers that have officially announced they won't have a stand at Frankfurt.
