Verdict
You’ll have worked out by now that it’s easier to list the things we like least about the 430 Scuderia than it is to name its finest elements. It rides noisily, we’d like weightier steering and the brakes are difficult to modulate at low speeds. And that’s it. Even those points are, at worst, minor niggles.
Picking the things it does best is harder still. The 430 Scuderia is a brilliant car that feels every inch as at home on the road as it does on a track. Its engine is a thing of wonder, its straight-line performance — both going and stopping — is beyond reproach and its grip levels and exquisite, delicate handling are straight from the top drawer.
What’s most surprising is that it marries all this speed and ability with an easy-going, compliant nature; it’s as pleasurable to drive gently as it is to drive hard. It is, in a word, wonderful.
