The Formula One 2010 season kicks off in Bahrain this weekend, where Jenson Button will set out to defend the title he won for Brawn GP in 2009.
Now partnering Lewis Hamilton at McLaren, Button is facing one the strongest groups of drivers in years. Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa will all be out to claim Button’s title.

But the real story of the season is seven-time champion Michael Schumacher’s comeback for Mercedes, where he will again team up with Ross Brawn and partner fellow German Nico Rosberg.

Points system:
The race winner will now receive 25 points, continuing with 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 down to 10th place. The move should encourage those further down the field to improve their position, as well as offering a greater reward for winning.
Refuelling ban:
Refuelling during races has been banned, leaving tyre changes as the only limiting factor during a pit-stop. So expect to see sub-three-second stops.
Korea:
The F1 circus will roll into Korea for the first time in October – providing the track is finished. Its position on the calendar remains provision, pending a circuit inspection by the FIA.
