First spy pictures show the newly facelifted Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG testing ahead of its launch in 2014

These are the first spy shots of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG facelift testing.

The heavy disguise worn by this test mule around its front and rear bumpers suggests that is where the biggest styling changes will be seen. It is believed the model will take some styling direction from the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class. A new grille design is also expected, along with subtle exterior changes and an upgraded interior.

In keeping with the company's design direction, standard models in the Mercedes range will get more pseudo-AMG styling, while AMG models themselves will get an even stockier, sportier look.

The facelifted car will likely use the same engine as the E63 AMG. That means a 5.5-litre V8 engine with 557bhp and around 530lb ft of torque. The current car has been on sale since 2011.

The new CLS63 AMG will go on sale in 2014.
