A potential fault with a brake light switch sees the recall of 25,000 Kias in the UK

Kia has announced a recall of 25,000 cars following the discovery of a faulty brake light switch.

The recall has been announced to fix a potential problem which could cause the brake lights not to illuminate, or fail to turn off when the brakes are released.

The models affected include previous-generation Carens, Sedona, Sportage and Sorento models, as well as some current-gen Kia Sorento and Kia Soul models and the Kia Optima saloon.

Kia says the fault does not affect the cars’ ability to brake or their ABS systems. Owners of models affected will be contacted by Kia to arrange the 15-minute fix.
