Infiniti M hybrid for Europe

05 August 2009

Infiniti is seriously considering bringing its forthcoming hybrid M saloon to Europe in 2011.

The car is slated for launch in the US in 2010, after the launch of the conventional petrol-engined M at the end of this year.

The hybrid M will use a 3.7-litre petrol V6 and what is billed as a “very compact electric motor” powered by lithium ion batteries. The tech was previewed by Infiniti’s Essence concept at this year’s Geneva show.

However, the car could provide Infiniti with a marketing dilemma, as it will have to sell the diesel-engined M alongside the hybrid M.
