Lexus’s new GS has scored a best-in-class Euro NCAP rating, although the five-star score was only achieved after modifications to the rear door, which opened during the side impact test. The GS, arriving in UK showrooms on 15 April, recorded a perfect side impact score at the second try, and only floorpan distortion stopped full marks for the front impact test.Child protection was rated at four out of five, but pedestrian protection only got two of the maximum four stars.
