Colin Goodwin
Title: Special correspondent

Colin is a journalist with more than 35 years of experience. He joined the staff of Autocar in 1996, but since 2001 he’s contributed as a freelance writer and correspondent. Memorable Autocar experiences and features include learning to drive on two wheels, doing 280mph in the jet car that Richard Hammond later nearly died in, and driving from Texas to Panama in a Land Rover Discovery.

These days Colin is motoring editor at the Daily Mirror, Daily Express and Daily Star. He loves anything with a spark plug or eight, is barely interested in EVs and he won’t even discuss autonomous driving cars.

He left school at 16 and had 11 different jobs before he found the best one in the world at age 24. He has no paper qualifications.
