Only the Dodge Journey remains in firm's UK line-up

The Dodge Caliber and Nitro have been taken off sale in the UK.

The decision to quietly drop the models from the Dodge line-up follows extremely modest sales for both vehicles.

It also means the Dodge Journey is the firm's only model on sale in the UK - a fact starkly illustrated by the fact that the 'Select a vehicle' drop down on the www.dodge.co.uk website offers just one model.

The Dodge Journey was revamped earlier this year, getting a revised model line-up and more kit as standard.

Good riddance!

I sat in a Caliber at the London Motorshow when it had just been launched and couldn't believe how cheap n nasty the interior was.

The Caliber at the time ot was launched looked like quite a good rival to the Qashquai (however you spell it!) but the quality was awful. One thig is for sure, we are now looking at some pretty cheap used bargains and I guess there must be some unsold new cars hanging around that will go on a big discount.

Caliber was everything that's wrong with modern car styling. A bog standard saloon beefed up to look threatening for the school run.

Good riddance.

Sure it wasn`t the best thing on four wheels, but it was different and interesting and added a bit of colour to the motoring world. Always sad to see a manufacturer fail.

I recall that in 2008, the Mercedes dealer in Teesside was doing a massive offer on their new Dodge Nitros - £10,000 off the price, no deposit and only £100 a month for 12 months, with the option to buy or return the car after that.

I was very tempted by that offer but I had just bought a new car at the time.

didnt Dodge UK do a BOGOF offer on their cars a while back also - the Avenger?

seriously, residuals on their cars now must be at happy meals levels.
The decision to quietly drop the models from the Dodge line-up follows extremely modest sales for both vehicles.
If you look at the Chrysler Group UK website it looks like there's been a cull across the ranges - no more Chrysler Sebring, standard Voyager, Jeep Compass or Jeep Commander. I also notice that my local Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep franchise has switched to the local Fiat/Alfa Romeo dealer.

About time, neither are lookers and neither have any substance to deviate away from the fact that they are no lookers.

I actually own a Caliber and love it.

It's quick, it's economical (mid to high 30's MPG) and it's comfortable, the inside is not as bad as most people make out, it's no better or worse than most car interiors.

Personally speaking I'd rather have a Dodge than some anonymous Eurobox piece of crap especially a Qashqai!

Oh, and people actually take the time to come over to talk to you about it, it's the first car I've had that people do this with.

It's a great shame people didn't take the time to try these cars out instead of believing everything they read in the motoring press, I for one will be sorry to see Dodge cut back on their range
