Bernhard to stay at VW

VW brand boss Wolfgang Bernhard is to stay on at the German car maker.

Last week there was speculation – sparked by a report in a German newspaper – Bernhard would resign, following the swift departure of VW CEO Bernd Pischetsrieder.

Reports this week, however, state that VW's supervisory board wants Bernhard to stay.

Bernhard was believed to have been a possible candidate to replace Pischetsrieder, but the job went to Audi boss Martin Winterkorn.
