Four-door sales prompt Porsche to raise financial predictions

Porsche has raised its financial forecast for this year on the back of soaring Porsche Panamera sales.

It had previously predicted a loss of more than a billion euros for the period up until 31 July, but now says that its loss will be less than a billion euros.

The past nine months have been particularly good for the company, with manufacturing output up 12 per cent, although deliveries were down 0.1 per cent year-on-year. In total, 13,906 Porsche Panameras were sold during this time.

That compares with plunging demand for the 911 (deliveries down 35 per cent) and Cayenne (down 23 per cent).

Porsches's full-year prediction is to sell more than the 75,238 vehicles it sold last year. It is anticipating a sales boost from the new Cayenne and six-cylinder Panamera, which go on sale imminently.

Porsche posted its first net loss since 1994 last year following its attempt to takeover VW.

Not really that helpful. Taken on the above, their forecast could have improved by just 2 euros...

Porsche could have put the air cooled engine in the front and put proper a/c in the car. Air cooled engines do not rust from the inside out when left dormant for years because they are not water cooled. They do not have thermostats, water pipes, water pumps or radiators.

They just need very good air circulation and they need to be kept clean.
