Production of French city cars grow by almost 10 per cent

Production of several French city cars increased by almost 10 per cent last month, as European scrapping incentive schemes have increased buyer demand.

The Citroen C1’s production was up by 9.4 per cent to 9703 units and production of the Peugeot 107 was up by 6.1 per cent to 9777 units.

The C1 and 107 are produced alongside the Toyota Aygo at Peugeot Citroen’s joint factory with Toyota at Kolin in the Czech Republic.

Production of the Renault Twingo has also been increased at Renault’s Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia.
