Italian manufacturer shows new personalisation kit at Bologna

Maserati has developed a series of new options called MC Sport Line for the GranTurismo.

Shown for the first time at the Bologna motor show, and available initially only on the GranTurismo range, the new customisation package features a generous selection of carbonfibre bits to enhance the ‘sporty DNA’ of the car.

Maserati’s move follows in the footsteps of sister company Ferrari, which offers a similar package called 2+2. The range of exterior options, shown here on the GranTurismo S, includes carbonfibre front and rear spoiler, side skirts, mirror housings and door handles, and black 20-inch alloys.

There’s more carbonfibre inside, with the doors sills, paddle shifters and steering wheel all getting the treatment.

MC Sport Line also brings minor mechanical changes to the standard car. The suspension, shock absorbers and anti-roll bars have all been stiffened and, as a result, the ride height is 10mm lower than on the regular GranTurismo S.

Customers can opt for the full list of modifications, or can order parts individually to ‘cater for personal tastes’, as Maserati puts it.

The MC Sport Line kit will be available from the end of January 2009 on the GranTurismo. The Quattroporte saloon is expected to get the package in the summer.
