Driver carrying 13 passengers gets dangerous driving charge

We know Volvos are meant to be practicality on wheels, but Abraham Gniwosch took this to extremes; he’s been banned for 12 months after being caught carrying 13 people in his S70 saloon.Gniwosch, a teacher in London, was stopped by police because of the “serious, dramatic overloading”. Officers found a man holding a boy on his lap in the passenger seat, two women each holding an infant in the rear, and a further six children sitting or standing in the centre section of the rear seat. None of the passengers was wearing a seatbelt.Gniwosch pleaded not guilty to the charges of dangerous driving, maintaining that he had driven safely at no more than 20mph. “I have been silly in what I’ve done, but not dangerous,” he claimed. The court did not agree; Gniwosch received a £900 fine on top of the 12-month ban. The prosecution had also asked for the car to be confiscated, but magistrates decided that would be an unnecessary penalty.

I can't believe it wasn't a Volvo estate! That would have made it slightly more believeable...
