The 2014 Honda Civic coupé has been shown for the first time at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.

The refreshed Civic coupé was shown alongside the new Civic Si coupé, with both models getting significant exterior styling changes including more aggressive front frill, new bonnet and front fender designs and redesigned headlight clusters.

The coupé also gets new tail-light designs and sportier front and rear bumpers with new wheel designs. The Si coupé also adds a bespoke lower front bumper design, plus a large rear spoiler.

Honda says it has also re-tuned the exhaust systems for both models, increasing power to 202bhp and torque to 174lb ft. The firm also announced its intentions to start selling performance and styling upgrade packages for its CR-Z hybrid.

A range of basic tuning upgrades will become available with a full supercharger package available from next year.

Our Verdict

Honda Civic

The Honda Civic is an impressive achievement and a worthy rival to the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus, but it isn't quite up to class-leading standards

Remember when Honda would offer Civic and Accord coupes to us mere UK buyers? Cracking looking cars, the Accord was brilliantly comfortable and reliable.

My brother had one of the last Integra R's - reportedly the finest handling front wheel drive ever. On Honda UK, I am most surprised that the neat 4dr Civic Saloon is not sold in UK. A crackingly well made & pretty little car. check it out - hondatrading.ro/modele/Noul-Civic-Sedan/21

You can no longer buy a Focus, Astra, Corolla etc. saloon in the UK. Even the Mondeo is not offered as such. Traditionally Ireland has been more welcoming to the 4 door variety - though even on the Irish site the Civic is hatchback only.

Honda UK wont be interested in this. They dont like coupes, they dont like cars with any performance. They might detract from the dullness of the current offerings. Please prove me wrong

However Honda want to make their cars look, if they retain the durability of their cars then they'll always have my vote.

So much more attractive than the hideous blob we get here, bring this over here as the new Type-R since we aren't getting a 3dr version

If toyota will sell the gt86 here why won't Honda sell this?
