First official images of the high-class interior for the all-new Mercedes B-class

Mercedes has released the first interior pictures of all its all-new B-class ahead of the mini-MPV’s world debut at next month’s Frankfurt motor show.

The interior of the new B-class borrows heavily from other Mercedes in the range, including switchgear from the C-class and E-class models, the CLS’s steering wheel and the circular air vents seen on the SLS and SLK.

The quality of the interior looks to have more in common with executive cars than cars than in its class such as the Volkswagen Golf Plus and Ford C-Max. The new B-class is also understood to offer class-leading interior space, thanks to the clever packaging of its new MFA platform.

This platform will also be used on the new BMW 1-series-rivaling A-class, a small SUV called GLC and a swoopy new four-door saloon called CLC.

Interior options will include a leather-stitched dashboard and an Apple iPad-inspired touchscreen that will carry out many of the interior’s controls. Four distinct interior themes will be offered in the new B-class, that Mercedes says covers “modern, sporty and classic” tastes.

The new B-class will reach showrooms in November after its Frankfurt show debut.
