Mercedes has ceased Maybach production; small numbers of new models available in group stock

Maybach is no more, according to a Mercedes-Benz spokesman. The news came as Mercedes USA published its latest price list, displaying "discontinued" beside each Maybach.

A Mercedes spokesman today confirmed to Autocar that the final Maybach was built in June, and "very small numbers" remain available in group stock. That means although new Maybachs are available, there is no flexibility on specification.

The spokesman confirmed Mercedes will continue to support existing owners and cars.

Last November Mercedes’ boss, Dieter Zetsche announced replacements for the 57 and 62 would not be produced. An insider said Mercedes was keen to cut its losses and position the new Mercedes S-class Pullman to fill the void.
