The information you’ve provided us with is invaluable, but it’s also fascinating (in a really good way) to discover how much variation there is out there – even if your average age is a fairly predictable 38, and your average car – a BMW – is similarly unsurprising.

General trends and observationsOf 200 posts, readers cars total 320.Hybrid cars and 4x4s are relatively uncommon (Total number of 4x4s – 14; total number of hybrids – 0).Diesel hasn’t (yet) superseded petrol.Very strong following for hot hatchbacks, the most popular of which by far are the Renault Sport models. One third of the sample appear to own at least one alternative to their everyday transport.Decent proportion of classic cars owned.
