Autocar has gone behind the scenes at McLaren's Technology Centre in Woking to see what it takes to build a successful Formula One team.
As well as designing, engineering and developing its multi-million pound racers, the centre also hosts some of the firm's historic race cars and the production line for the McLaren-Mercedes SLR.

The trip, which was organised by McLaren's technology partner Mobil 1, gave us the chance to look through our archives to bring you hi-res pictures of some of McLaren's most iconic race cars, as well as the McLaren F1 and new McLaren MP4-12C.
Also in the gallery are captioned pictures of the Technology Centre itself and an inisight into how the team prepare for a race.

Peter, you're right. However, the majority of those pics weren't there when I made my initial post. So either I was premature, or Autocar listened to my grumble. Either way, it is now an excellent collection, so Thank You to Autocar!.

Picture 14's caption says that most of the SLR's were LHD.
I may be wrong but i thought ALL the SLR's were LHD.

Fred , you must be a hard person to please, there were enough pictures to satisfy most peoples tastes, i personally liked to see the le-mans cars and the 80's/90's F1 cars and the final picture of Aryton Senna was a perfect photo to end the montage,like i said, something for everyone, i think.
