Chevrolet has announced that its new 5-door Chevrolet Cruze hatch will cost from £13,995 when it goes on sale next month.

Three engines will be available - a 1.6-litre petrol with 122bhp, a 1.8-litre petrol version producing 139bhp and a 2.0-litre 161bhp oil burner. The latter is the only engine in the range to include a six-speed automatic or manual gearbox.

Trim levels for the Chevrolet Cruze include the entry-level LS, mid-range LT and luxury LTZ with optional Executive Pack.

LS spec includes air-conditioning and electric, heated door mirrors, with LT adding cruise control, electric windows, parking sensors, 16–inch alloys and leather steering wheel and gear lever.

Buyers of the LTZ trim, available from £16,095, get the option of 1.8-litre petrol or 2.0-litre diesel engines. Spec includes Bluetooth, UBSB, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, 17–inch alloys and aluminium touches inside.

The Executive Pack for LTZ trim will only be available with the diesel engine, and costs from £19,295 for manual version and £20,295 for the auto ’box. Owners get leather trim, sat-nav and heated front seats as standard.

Chevrolet Managing Director Mark Terry said: “The hatchback version of the Cruze is a massively important new car for us, as it not only appeals on a retail level, but also massively increases Chevrolet’s appeal to the fleet market."
