Dacia's Duster 'No Limit' features an 838bhp engine and will compete in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb

Dacia has revealed the Dacia Duster ‘No Limit,’ a purpose-built car set to take on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on June 26.

Described by the company as an “extremely powerful car,” the Duster ‘No Limit’ features Nissan’s 3.8-litre V6 engine borrowed from the GT-R, albeit “tuned to deliver maximum performance” – some 838bhp.

The engine is mated to a ‘specially developed’ sequential six-speed Sadev gearbox to cope with the car’s newfound power.

External features of the car include glass-fibre shell with flared arches, front splitter and massive rear wing. The car will compete in the ‘Unlimited’ class, which sets no restrictions on power, weight, transmission or tyres and will be piloted by three-time winner of the Trophée Andros Jean-Philippe Dayraut.

"The Pikes Peak Hill Climb is the only event where you get to keep a monster like this in check while drifting at speeds of 200kph on a course which features a mix of asphalt and dirt,” Dayraut said.

"I can't think of any other form of motorsport where such cars are authorised."

The current lap record for the 20km stretch stands at 10min 1.42sec.
