Kia's all-new Picanto will cost from £7995 when it goes on sale next month

The all-new Kia Picanto will cost from £7995 when it goes on sale in the UK next month.

Two engines will be offered – a 68bhp, 3-cylinder 1.0-litre unit, which emits 99g/km and returns 67.3mpg and an 84bhp 4-cyl 1.25-litre lump, emitting 109g/km with 60.2mpg, the company claims.

Opt for Kia’s stop-start system with the 1.25-litre version, however, and the company says that emissions figures fall to 100g/km, with fuel economy increased by over 5mpg to 65.7mpg.

Four trim levels are on offer - 1, 1 Air, 2 and 3 – with standard equipment including adaptive brake lights, ABS with brake assist, ESC and hill assist, along with front electric windows, MP3 compatible stereo and daytime running lights.

Unsurprisingly, 1 Air includes air conditioning, with ‘2’ adding 14-inch alloys, Bluetooth, heated and folding door mirrors with integrated LED side repeaters, a leather steering wheel and chrome exterior touches.

For the top-of-the-range £11,195 ‘3’ – available on the 1.25-litre version only – you get 15-inch alloys, body-coloured side skirts and automatic headlights with LED daytime running lights and “unique” LED rear lamps, Kia says.

Prices for the entry-level 1.25-litre version start from £10,195.
