Lamborghini will add an "everyday" model to its line-up, most likely to be a four-door saloon

Lamborghini chief executive Stephan Winkelmann has announced that that the firm will add an “everyday” model to its line-up.

When speaking at the Reuters Global Luxury and Fashion Summit, Winkelmann said, "We are going to have a third model. It has to be an everyday car. We want to have a car which is able to be used on a daily basis."

As yet, however, no final decision has been made of which segment the new car will sit, although it looks likely that the car will be a four-door saloon.

When speaking to Autocar at the end of last year, Winkelmann said, “We really have a choice when it comes to an additional model: an SUV or a four-seat four-door. And for me the SUV is a no-go. It doesn’t exist in our price segment, and it’s not a real luxury car.”

With the decision in place, he added that the company would need approximately four years for the third model to make production.
