These are the latest spy pictures of the new Vauxhall Astra coupé caught testing at the Nürburgring a full year ahead of it going on sale in Europe.
General Motors Europe has already confirmed it will unveil a three-door Astra concept at the Paris motor show later this month that's set to preview the model spied here.

The concept is expected to closely preview the production car’s lines, which have been made deliberately rakish to separate it from the regular five-door variant.
GM is claiming that the car has “dramatic proportions and sculptural shapes”.
The concept’s looks will also give a strong clue to the next Astra VXR, which is due to arrive at the same time as the bread-and-butter three-door models. That's the model spied here; its identity is given away by larger alloys, large cross-drilled brakes, low ride height and also a larger exhaust.

Even under a disguise, it’s clear Vauxhall has used a sharply angled rear side window and thick C-pillar to give a sportier appearance - although the extended roofline and spoiler hint at reasonable rear headroom.
Another undisguised car previously spied showed that the ‘blade’ shapes, first seen on the Insignia, have been retained - although their position here is the reverse of the layout on the five-door Astra.

time will tell when the next VXR comes out but i think the next will be more smoothed out rather than the current model which i reckon looks spot on in the right colour

Is it just me or does the car look slightly boring
Its all a bit smoothed out,the rear wheels look undersized from the front 3/4 view. what about some agressive lines as per previous VXR???

Since when is a 3 door version of a 5 door hatch a coupe ?
