Russia-only saloon launched at the Moscow motor show

Hyundai has launched a new compact saloon at the Moscow motor show for the domestic market.

The Hyundai RB is a repackaged Accent with new bumpers and a new front grille, bonnet and headlights. Its design also incorporates Hyundai's 'fluidic sculpture’ design language.

The RB concept is virtually production-ready and will be built at the firm's new St Petersburg plant from January 2011. Sales will start in Russia soon after.

It will be available with Hyundai's new 1.4 and 1.6 Gamma petrol engines, producing 106bhp and 122bhp respectively. Transmission options for both engines include a four-speed automatic and a five-speed manual.

That looks very nice. The Hyundai isn't bad, either.

Re: Hyundai's new budget saloon

Because it's only being released as a BUDGET (aka VERY CHEAP) model in ONE market!

Hence why they gave it a new name - not Accent - because although it has similar styling to the new Accent and Elantra, it is not the same car whatsoever...
