A racing version of the Mini E electric car has lapped the Nurburgring in less than 10 minutes.

The car’s control electronics and software have been tuned for competition and its single-stage helical gearbox features a lengthened gear ratio.

The E Race completed the 13-mile circuit in a time of 9:51.45mins, hitting a top speed of 116mph along the way.

The car was piloted around the Nurburgring by former DTM racer Thomas Jager.
