Photos of the new BMW 6-series coupe

These are the first pictures of the new BMW 6-series coupe, which was spied being transported in Munich.

Despite the disguise trying to suggest the car has a folding hardtop, it is in fact a classic coupe.

It differs from the convertible models that have been spied testing with its different roofline, B-pillars and larger side and rear windows.

Engines will be taken from the current BMW 7-series range, with the exception of the anticpated 760Li's twin-turbo V12.

Although there isn't expected to be a new M6, it is thought BMW is planning 6-series GT and a four-door hatchback models.

Re: BMW 6-series coupe spied

I'm a bit in two over the hard top vs the soft top. There should be a coupe, no doubt, but concerning the convertable - I don't know.

I hate the idea of adding weight to a sports car, but at the same time, the hard top does look better and is more secure and quiet.

In the end, my feeling is that BMW will go for the folding hard top, but I'm hoping for a soft top.

Looks like they've dropped the hideous bustle boot lid which is no bad thing!

Re: BMW 6-series coupe spied

Why do BMW continue to pretend this is a folding hardtop? For the majority of convertible owners a folding hardtop would be the preference over a fabric, granted there are a few who drives who appreciate the reduction in weight a fabric roof provides. In most peoples opinion, a folding hard top seems more advanced than a fabric one, and to believe the car will have one, and then find out it will not once the production model is revealed will be disappointed.
