People have the right to post their opinions

Of course they do, but to do that it would help if they had a genuine and considered opinion to begin with as opposed to regurgitating bile from one thread to another. Usually relating to the same manufacturers. Usually German.

And what make you think the opinion is not considered or genuine? Maybe there's a reason that this opinion crops up time and time again in relation to this particular car...

Oh please... Even in that crappy crappy scan of a grainy pic it is nowhere near as ugly as the current one. And if it really is smaller and lighter, this might very well be an impressive car.

People just love to hate on stuff. Geez...

Not hate. Just fair comment.

To all those who come in with these over the top criticisms of this car, I thought this was a car website, not Vogue magazine. Looks are not everything in the world of cars, (read Fiat Multipla, horrid looking, but incredible car at the time). Secondly, have all of you who write off the Cayenne based on a poor scanned photo ever driven one. If not, drive one, then come back and compare it to other 4x4s. It is not just me with this view, read the Autocar impressions of the previous and new cayenne, they are quite simply one of the best on road 4x4s ever made, and better off road than many "soft-roaders".

Looks, whether you will admit it or not, are subjective! I love the old Alfa Romeo RZ, others hate it and think it is a minger.

Looks are, indeed, not everything. But they are enough for car companies to spend millions designing and marketing their cars based on looks. And as this is such a well acknowledged example of ugliness it it worth of strong comment. Yes, I've driven it - see above comment.
