Two teams will run two cars apiece in the FIA GT1 World Championship

Nissan’s GT-R GT1 racer will be run by two different teams in the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship series next season.

Nissan Motorsports International (Nismo) confirmed the car would be run by Britain’s Sumo Power GT, as well as the Swiss Racing Team, although driver line ups have yet to be revealed. Each team will run two cars with the full technical support of Nismo.

Nismo has also released new pictures of the rear-drive racer, which is powered by a normally aspirated 5.6-litre V8 engine mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. This V8 produces 592bhp and 479lb ft of torque.

The works Nissan GT-R was tested in several GT1 races in 2009, but this is the first time the car will compete in the full championship.
