Australian sports car firm Skelta has launched its road-going G-Force racer at the Autosport International racing car show in Birmingham.The Skelta G-Force is available as both a roadster and coupe, with the coupe version featuring Mercedes SLS-style gullwing doors and a removable targa roof.
The car has been succesful in its native Australia in road rallys and hillclimbs, and Skelta has been testing the car at several UK circuits ahead of its UK launch.Ray Vandersee, the firm's managing director, told Autocar that the car was built in the Colin Chapman "arrive and drive" spirit."The Skelta is a car you can drive to the circuit and then drive home again," he said. "We're inspired by Colin Chapman's concept of driving your road car to the circuit, competing with it and then driving it home again. We're hoping to sell some over here and it's being looked at by customers wanting to run it in GT series."Power for the coupe comes from a supercharged 2.0-litre Honda unit producing 335bhp, while the wider bodied roadster gets a Hartley 3.0-litre V8 producing 454bhp.
Both cars have a chrome-steel spaceframe, with a carbonfibre body. Its lightweight construction gives the car a kerb weight of 720kg, while also helping it achieve a 50/50 weight distribution.
The coupe can manage 0-60mph in 3.7 secs, with the roadster getting there half a second quicker.

What a mess. But will probably drive very well aka Gumpert.
The front and rear with those boy racer aftermarket tail lights are awful.
The lack of interest on the stand would suggest many hold a similar view to me. (or maybe the picture was taken pre opening)
