Nissan 370Z 40th Anniversary may be launched in the UK next year

Nissan has still to decide whether its special 40th Anniversary edition of the 370Z will go on sale in the UK.

The Japanese firm launched its commemorative sports car on the eve of the Tokyo motor show in October and deliveries will start in the new year in Japan and the US.

The first Z-car to go on sale was the Datsun 240Z in October 1969, and the Nissan 370Z 40th Anniversary commemorates the history of one of Japan’s first sports cars.

A Nissan spokesman told Autocar that “we might see something similar early next year”, but the car hasn't yet been confirmed for a UK launch.

The new model gets the same 3.7-litre V6 as the standard car, mated to a manual gearbox. It is also equipped with the Sport Package, which includes the clever SynchroRev Match system (a manual gearbox which blips the throttle automatically on downshifts), new front and rear spoilers, a limited-slip differential and upgraded Nissan Sport Brakes.

Completing the look is 19-inch Rays forged alloy wheels, a '40th Quartz' exterior paint job and an exclusive red leather interior.

Pricing for the model in the US has now been confirmed: it will cost from $38,860 (£23,845).

The Nissan 370Z is seductively honest, entertaining and great value, too. But it’s no long-haul cruiser

Re: No UK decision on special 370Z

I just had a quick look on some US websites

The "Base" Coupe is $31,460

The "Touring" Coupe is $34,130

So I guess $29,990 is a mistake.....

Want to celebrate four decades of the Nissan Z with a special edition car? You may want to take a look at the 2010 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition. Pricing for the limited-production model will begin at $39,380, including a $720 destination charge.

Come on Autocar ... if a layman like me can find the real price in a few seconds - surely you can too .....

"Pricing for the model in the US has now been confirmed: it will cost from $29,990 (£18,400)."

£18,400 - if only! Try £30,000-plus here in the UK!
