German tuner adds 40bhp to standard car

The Ford Focus RS has been tuned to 340bhp by German company Loder 1899.

The company claims to have made half the 40bhp power gain over the standard car with a new stainless-steel exhaust system in a Y-pipe form. It is fitted with a silencer that deepends the RS's note while also lowering its maximum noise.

The other power gains are achieved by a new air filter and ECU tinkering.

Loder 1899 claims that its car will travel from 0-62mph in 5.7sec (down 0.2sc from the standard car).

Buyers can also lower their RS by 35mm and opt for a range of alloys from 17-20 inches in size. Nitrgen fille dtyres are fitted to the alloys as standard.

The cost of the full kit is around £6000.
